Mowing
Property owners are responsible for mowing their properties and the adjacent public right-of-way. Generally, grass may not exceed 8 inches in length and all noxious weeds must be mowed or eradicated.
Moorhead City Code Section 3-3-3 lists specific lawn maintenance requirements. If you are unavailable or unable to care for your property, please make arrangements to have a lawn service or a friend monitor your property to avoid code enforcement actions, which may include the cost of abatement and administrative fines.
In certain areas near regional ditches/ponds and park/recreation areas, the City performs property maintenance.
